Cincinnati Reds manager David Bell views Jonathan India’s competitiveness as one of his great strengths.
India is known for his ability to play through injuries. He has had a lot of clutch moments in his first two MLB seasons. He wasn’t phased by some early struggles at the plate in 2021 and went on to win the Rookie of the Year award.
Early in the 2022 season, India’s competitiveness translated into an adjustment at the plate. After the Reds lost three of their best power hitters in the offseason, India changed his approach to try to replace their production in the lineup, but it didn’t work in his favor.
