WASHINGTON, D.C. – There were some initial concerns about Jonathan India’s availability when he exited Wednesday’s game with leg soreness, an injury that stemmed from a hit by pitch at the Field of Dreams game more than two weeks ago.
India is known for his ability to play through pain, so it always says a lot when he’s forced out of a game. He underwent an MRI exam, and he was kept on the bench for a day, but there is no doubting his impact in the lineup.
He reached base four times in Friday’s series opener against the Washington Nationals at Nationals Park, and he scored three times.
