CHICAGO – At the beginning of the 10-day, three-city road trip in Seattle, Reds manager David Bell noticed there was a sickness bug that was floating around the clubhouse.

Joey Votto was scratched from Monday’s lineup against the Chicago Cubs because he was feeling sick. Bell told him that he didn’t need to come to the ballpark unless he was feeling better.
