GOODYEAR, Ariz. – With a four-man outfield to begin the season, Jesse Winker will be a secondary option in center field. Winker made his first spring training start in center field Sunday.

Winker played two games – 16 innings – in center when he was in Triple-A Louisville in 2017 under then-manager Delino DeShields, who is now the Reds’ first-base coach.

Yasiel Puig, who is expected to be the everyday right fielder, hasn’t played an inning in center field during spring training games.
