Jackson Stephens’ grandmother won’t have to worry about not having a passport for the right-hander’s major-league debut on Saturday.
Stephens, 23, was called up to the big leagues in May, meeting the team in Toronto to serve in the team’s bullpen. Although he made it – and most of his family was able to as well – his grandmother didn’t have a passport, so she was unable to attend.
She didn’t miss anything but seeing him sit in the Rogers Centre bullpen. She did get to Great American Ball Park for the two games that he sat in that bullpen.
