Veteran pitcher Wade Miley is giving it one more try. The Cincinnati Reds sent Miley on a rehab assignment at Double-A Chattanooga on Friday and the left-hander allowed one run on one hit over 1u2154 innings of work for the Lookouts. Miley walked two, struck out a pair, and was lifted after 38 pitches.
The veteran southpaw — battling back from a flexor strain he suffered in late-June — has only appeared in 12 innings this season, authoring a 6.75 ERA in three appearances after missing over a year following Tommy John surgery. The Reds are hoping Miley can return to the team sometime in the coming weeks, though it's yet to be determined what his role would be.
