Hunter Greene's MLB debut will be years in the making for the Cincinnati Reds

ATLANTA – Throughout David Bell’s tenure as the manager of the Cincinnati Reds and Nick Krall’s time as the Reds’ general manager, the franchise has made starting pitching a priority.

In 2018, the Reds hired pitching coach Derek Johnson from the Milwaukee Brewers. In 2019, the Reds traded for Trevor Bauer and Sonny Gray. In 2020, the Reds signed Wade Miley. In 2022, when the Reds traded several of their core players, three starting pitching prospects highlighted the return.

Over the last few years, the Reds’ vision has been a consistent pipeline of starting pitching prospects making a difference at the major league level.
