How all the teams in the National League Central changed throughout the offseason

The National League Central may have been the only division in baseball last season that didn’t have a rebuilding team. At the All-Star break, first place and last place were separated by 4.5 games before the Pittsburgh Pirates faded and the Cincinnati Reds never pushed above .500.

The Reds probably improved the most in the Central throughout the offseason, but they finished 16 games behind the NL Central champion St. Louis Cardinals. The Milwaukee Brewers revamped their roster and the Chicago Cubs remain in a holding pattern with a high payroll following an underachieving year.

Outside of the Pirates, the other four teams should be in the mix to win the division in 2020.
