Homer Bailey shelled again, Reds lose to Brewers 11-3

The Joe Nuxhall Memorial Honorary Star of the Game

Joey Votto walked once, homered twice, and...dear god, he’s just the absolute best.

Votto entered the game having hit an absurd .353/.454/.624 over the last 365 days, in which time that 1.079 OPS had featured 39 doubles, 37 homers, 113 RBI, and a completely absurd 110/79 BB/K ratio. (Yes, that’s the BB/K ratio, not K/BB.)

The Cincinnati Reds got shellacked thoroughly by the Milwaukee Brewers on the day, but it certainly wasn’t Votto’s fault. And watching one of the best offensive players I’ve ever seen play the game certainly is fun regardless of what the final score suggests.
