LOS ANGELES -- Matt Harvey enjoyed a successful Reds debut Friday against the Dodgers in Los Angeles. The right-hander coasted through four innings, retiring 12 of the 13 batters he faced.
Harvey made 55 pitches (32 strikes) and averaged 93.6 mph on his four-seam fastball. His velocity reached a season-high 95.8 mph twice. He struck out two batters while recording three outs on the ground and seven in the air.
The only baserunner Harvey allowed came on a second-inning triple by Dodgers first baseman Cody Bellinger that should have been a routine flyout.
