Former Red Edwin Encarnacion of Seattle Mariners hits 400th career home run

Edwin Encarnacion joined the 400 home run club on Sunday by hitting his 399th and 400th career homers in the Seattle Mariners' game against the Angels. His 400th home run also was his 20th of the season.

The 36-year-old Encarnacion hit his first 71 career home runs for the Cincinnati Reds. He made his big-league debut for Cincinnati in 2005 at age 22, and played for the Reds until he was traded with Josh Roenicke and Zach Stewart to the Toronto Blue Jays for Scott Rolen in July of 2009.
