The Bats scored two runs off “Big Game” James “but a 5.46 career postseason ERA” Shields (on a rehab assignment) in five innings, and then played add-on in the eighth and ninth to put away the game. Zach Vincej’s single in the eighth scored Phillip Ervin and Beau Amaral, and then Brandon Dixon hit an RBI-double in ninth. Jesse Winker went 0-for-4 with a walk.
Cody Reed looks to continue his strong outings at AAA as he starts for the Bats tonight at 7:05 ET in Charlotte.
