Robert “Bob Steve” Stephenson showed more itchiness to get back to the show in this start for Louisville, pitching 7.2 innings and allowing just two runs on four hits and striking out eight. The biggest bright spot for the still young right-hander start, however, was the zero walks. Jimmy “Drinks To” Herget earned his third save with Louisville, pitching a scoreless ninth.
Darnell “Philbin” Sweeney walked, homered and drove in two to pace the offense for the Bats, while Hernan “The Barbarian” Iribarren and Brandon Dixon “Dicks Off” each cashed in a 2-for-5 showing.
