Elly De La Cruz's first home run ball was caught by Moeller HS linebacker Alex French

A tweet from the Cincinnati Reds' official account offered some idea of how things went down when top prospect Elly De La Cruz met the fan who caught his first home run, a ball De La Cruz crushed 458 feet into the last row of the sun/moon deck in right field at Great American Ball Park during the Reds' second come-from-behind win in as many days against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The fan, Moeller High School linebacker Alex French, is holding a bat as he poses with De La Cruz, holding a ball, in one photo.
