All Nick Senzel has to do now is make up for the Cincinnati Reds’ last four seasons. Make the fans’ extended suffering worth it – validate whatever cautious optimism they might have – and everything will be fine.
It’s an unfair ask. It’s an unreasonable ask. Impossible, actually. This isn’t the NBA. LeBron’s not coming home. One player cannot change the world. The best Senzel can do is play to his expectations, and we won’t know if he can do that for several years.
