Derek Dietrich hit a 2-run homer in the 11th inning of a win over the Padres. He says the Reds are the most fun-loving team he's played on. Bobby Nightengale, Cincinnati Enquirer
SAN DIEGO – Derek Dietrich crushed a go-ahead, two-run home run in the top of the 11th inning Friday and he smiled when he peeked into the Reds’ dugout as he rounded second base.
Dietrich saw a bunch of arms in the air and players celebrating. He said some of his teammates challenged him to hit a homer. The Reds were scoreless since the first inning, but their pitching was strong enough to set up Dietrich’s heroics in a 3-2 win over the San Diego Padres at Petco Park.
