Cleveland rocks Reds' Amir Garrett

The hot start of Amir Garrett has made his last two starts stand out even more, as the Reds’ rookie left-hander has looked like a rookie losing each of his last two starts, including Tuesday’s 8-7 loss to Cleveland.

Garrett wasn’t charged with the loss on Tuesday thanks to a seventh-inning three-run pinch-hit homer by Eugenio Suarez, but spotting Cleveland a seven-run lead was hardly a badge of glory.

“You want young guys to set themselves apart from the others that come up and struggle and go up and down,” Reds manager Bryan Price. “I think he has the temperament and the stuff to pitch up here and pitch effectively.
