Cincinnati Reds who have deputized at 1B since Joey Votto’s first game

When Joey Votto rolls into camp in Goodyear, Arizona, it will be his 16th big league spring training with the Cincinnati Reds. All the way back in 2006 - back when the Reds facility was in Sarasota, Florida - Votto cruised in as a fresh-faced 22 year old, socked a double as his lone hit in 8 PA in Grapefruit League play, and promptly was shipped off to AA Chattanooga to ply his professional trade that season.

Of course, his bat absolutely exploded with the Lookouts, his .956 OPS and 22 dingers there that year rocketing him into Top 100 prospect lists and, in 2007, eventually to the daily role of 1B of the Cincinnati Reds.
