Cincinnati Reds visit the Brewers with their season on the brink

It’s becoming painfully obvious that beginnings are not the Cincinnati Reds (44-53) forte. The 2018 Reds began the season 3-18 and started the second half of the campaign by dropping 5-of-7 contests. Fast forward to 2019 and the song remains the same. After dropping 8 of their first 9 games to begin the season, the Reds have now lost 7-of-10 after the All-Star break.

For a team that has such a thin margin for error, these starts have been crippling in the Reds’ hopes of playing meaningful games late in the season. Unfortunately, for the Redlegs, they have failed in every aspect of the game to open the second half of the 2019 season.
