Cincinnati Reds trade pitcher Tanner Roark to the Oakland A's for a minor league outfielder

After the Cincinnati Reds acquired Trevor Bauer in a blockbuster three-team trade on Tuesday night, it increased the odds that they were going to trade one of their starting pitchers.

The Reds are sending Tanner Roark to the Oakland A's in exchange for minor league outfielder Jameson Hannah, according to MLB Network's Jon Heyman. Hannah is ranked as the No. 8 prospect in the A's farm system by MLB.com.

Roark had a 6-7 record and 4.24 ERA in 21 starts with the Reds this season. He struck out 108 batters in 110 1/3 innings. Roark is a free agent at the end of the season, like fellow starting pitcher Alex Wood, which made him an obvious trade candidate.
