Cincinnati Reds shutout for 4th time this season in 3-0 loss to St. Louis Cardinals

There were plenty of moments of frustration. Joey Votto slammed his bat after a flyout in the sixth inning and yelled after a strikeout in the third inning. Jesse Winker kicked his bat after a second-inning strikeout.

Nick Castellanos, with two runners on base, struck out to end the eighth inning. He dropped his bat and helmet to the ground.

The Cincinnati Reds were shutout for the fourth time this season in a 3-0 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday at Busch Stadium. They produced four hits – No. 9 hitter Kyle Farmer tied a career-high with three hits – and no baserunner touched third base.
