Cincinnati Reds shut down by Johnny Cueto, end road trip with loss to San Francisco Giants

It’s been six years since Johnny Cueto was the ace of the Cincinnati Reds’ rotation. He’s 35 years old and dealt with several injuries over the last few seasons.

He may not be the Cy Young contender that he used to be, but Cueto is still Cueto. He’s a master of deception on the mound, always disrupting a hitter’s timing. He pitches with a flair of fun and seriousness.

The Reds didn’t have an answer for Cueto and the San Francisco Giants’ bullpen in a 3-0 loss Wednesday at Oracle Park. It’s the second time the Reds have been shutout this season and they ended their six-game West Coast road trip with a 2-4 record.
