PHOENIX – Reduced to essentially a pinch-runner role throughout the past week, Cincinnati Reds rookie center fielder Nick Senzel is expected to miss the remainder of the 2019 season because of a torn labrum in his right shoulder.

Senzel, who had an MRI exam Friday, will visit Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles on Monday to determine if he needs surgery and how he should rehab the injury.

“Nick’s symptoms, some pinching in his shoulder area, has not subsided,” said Dick Williams, the Reds’ president of baseball operations.
