Cincinnati Reds re-sign pitchers R.J. Alaniz, Jesse Biddle; Rivas completes Iglesias trade

The Cincinnati Reds re-signed pitchers R.J. Alaniz and Jesse Biddle to minor league contracts, which included invites to spring training, the team announced Friday.

Biddle, a left-hander, pitched two-thirds of an inning in his lone appearance with the Reds last season before he was sidelined with a left shoulder injury. Before his injury, he spent the 2020 season at the team's alternate site in Mason.

The 29-year-old Biddle was the 27th pick in the 2010 MLB Draft by the Philadelphia Phillies. He owns a 6-2 record and 4.68 ERA in 91 career appearances, with 60 appearances coming in the 2018 season with the Atlanta Braves.
