Cincinnati Reds rally against Chicago Cubs before rain delay, win 2 of 3 games in series

Playing under a heavy stream of rain in the fifth inning Thursday, the Reds rallied from a two-run deficit through a couple of wild pitches and a few more pitches left up in the strike zone.

With two runners on base and two outs, Cubs lefty José Quintana threw back-to-back wild pitches in an at-bat against Eugenio Suárez. Quintana’s second wild pitch allowed Luis Castillo to score and moved Joey Votto to third base.

In the seventh pitch of Suárez’s at-bat, he smacked a single to left field to plate the go-ahead run in an eventual 4-2 victory over the Chicago Cubs at Great American Ball Park.
