Cincinnati Reds pull players off field after bees swarm diamond seats area

With an infestation of bees around the infield Sunday, the Cincinnati Reds and San Francisco Giants had their game delayed at Great American Ball Park for 18 minutes.

Reds players started running onto the field for the top of the first inning when umpires told some players to remain near the dugout. There was a swarm of bees near home plate.

The outfielders continued with their usual warm-up until they saw pitcher Anthony DeSclafani and catcher Curt Casali had yet to take the field. Umpires conferred with the grounds crew and Tim O'Connell, the vice president of baseball operations at GABP, as they waited for the bees to leave the field.
