Cincinnati Reds: Projecting the starting rotation for 2019

After an agonizing 20 starts, the Cincinnati Reds brass finally decided to remove Homer Bailey from the starting rotation. Tyler Mahle, who was sent down to Louisville back in August will take Bailey’s spot in the rotation.

Bailey is under contract through next season at a price tag of $23 million. That’s a lot of money for a pitcher who’s provided just one win on the season. There’s a lot of speculation as to whether or not the Reds will bring Bailey back next season, but we’ll save that for another day.

The Reds have commented throughout the season about their plans for free agency.
