Cincinnati Reds players try to ignore trade rumors ahead of MLB's upcoming Trade Deadline

With rumors flying in the final days before Major League Baseball’s July 31 Trade Deadline, players who see their names appear do their best to ignore them.

Entering Sunday, the Reds were eight games out of first place in the National League Central and seven games out of the second wild-card spot. The Reds aren’t planning to trade players to simply cut payroll, but it makes sense to listen to offers involving soon-to-be free agents.

The Reds have several players in the final year of their contracts: Yasiel Puig, Tanner Roark, Alex Wood, José Iglesias, Scooter Gennett and David Hernandez.
