Cincinnati Reds place closer Raisel Iglesias on the disabled list with biceps injury

The Reds placed closer Raisel Iglesias on the 10-day disabled list Wednesday.

Interim Manager Jim Riggleman said Iglesias has been bothered by a sore left biceps for several days. Right-handed pitcher Tanner Rainey was promoted from Triple-A Louisville to fill his roster spot.

In 20 appearances this season, Iglesias has earned eight saves and allowed five runs in 21 u2154 innings, striking out 27.

Iglesias suffered a blown save in his last outing, giving up two runs on three hits against the Chicago Cubs in the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader.

He’s eligible to return from the disabled list on May 30.
