Cincinnati Reds manager Bryan Price not second-guessing sticking with Michael Lorenzen

The result didn’t work out, but Reds manager Bryan Price wasn’t thinking twice about his decision to keep Michael Lorenzen in to face Anthony Rizzo with the game on the line Friday.

With two outs in the ninth and the left-handed hitting Rizzo representing the tying run at the plate, Price stuck with Lorenzen, who had thrown 40 pitches in 1 u2154 innings, even though he had left-hander Wandy Peralta available in the bullpen.

Rizzo tied the game on Lorenzen’s first pitch to him, a 96-mph fastball, hitting a laser shot it into the first row of seats in right field.
