DENVER – Rookie right-hander Luis Castillo had his first truly rough outing, and the Cincinnati Reds fell 5-3 to the Colorado Rockies on Monday at Coors Field. Here are the main storylines.
Luis Castillo didn’t have many easy innings, but he battled. The 24-year-old rookie never truly caved, but almost every inning was a struggle. He stranded two in scoring position in the first, and then gave up a run in each of the next three innings.
In the second, he allowed a leadoff triple and then a two-out double to give the Rockies a 1-0 lead.
