Cincinnati Reds look to bury Pittsburgh Pirates in NL Central cellar

The Cincinnati Reds (48-55) just completed an excellent week after taking 2-of-3 from both the Milwaukee Brewers and Colorado Rockies. Beginning today, the Reds will conclude their 6-game homestand with a visit from their constant nemesis the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Over the past week the Reds have been overpowering their opponents with round trippers and quality starting pitching. Entering Sunday, the Reds have hit nine homers in their past five games. Seven of those long balls have come courtesy of third baseman Eugenio Suárez and rookie Josh VanMeter.

A trio of right-handers were outstanding for the Reds this past week.
