Cincinnati Reds: Eugenio Suárez looks to burst the Dodgers’ bubble

Following consecutive series victories over the San Francisco Giants and Chicago Cubs, the Cincinnati Reds (20-24) appear well on their way to escaping the NL Central basement. Pitching continues to be the Reds’ calling card, however, timely hitting is emerging as a team strength.

Entering play on Thursday, the Reds, as a team, are slashing .271/.362/.462 with runners in scoring position. The issue has been occupying the bases. Hopefully, Thursday night’s game is a harbinger of things to come.

Last night, the top 3 hitters in the Reds’ lineup, Nick Senzel, Joey Votto, and Eugenio Suárez went 6-for-13 with 2 runs scored, 2 RBIs and a walk.
