Cincinnati Reds drop 5th straight series after 4-1 walk-off loss to Cubs in Wrigley

Death, taxes, and an indelible smile on my face each and every time Joey Votto socks a big ol’ homer.

I was smiling earlier. After the way this one fizzled again, there is no joy in Losantiville.

Votto’s homer leveled the score between the Cincinnati Reds and Chicago Cubs in what evolved into an early pitchers’ duel between Alec Mills and Vladimir Gutierrez, but alas, the Reds bats went completely silent both before and after, and they eventually belched up yet another series in a 4-1 loss after Jason Heyward bloked a 3-run walk-off tater off Brad Brach in extra innings.
