There are concerns there won't be a minor league baseball season this summer, but the Cincinnati Reds gave their minor league players some comfort on Friday.

Reds minor league players were informed that they will be paid their weekly stipend through Sept. 7, the rest of the scheduled minor league season. The stipend for most players is $400 per week.

The Reds are one of seven organizations, according to Baseball America on Friday evening, to commit to paying minor leaguers through the end of August. The other teams include the Houston Astros, Seattle Mariners, Miami Marlins, San Diego Padres, Kansas City Royals and Minnesota Twins.
