Cincinnati Reds coaches Billy Hatcher, Pat Kelly interested in interviewing for managerial jobs

MIAMI – During most home games this season, Reds interim bench coach Pat Kelly sat in the manager’s office during Jim Riggleman’s postgame press conferences with reporters.

Managing at the minor league level, Kelly usually didn’t face daily postgame questions and he wanted to see how Riggleman interacted with the media. Kelly said he did the same thing when he was a bench coach for interim manager Pete Mackanin in 2007.

Kelly, 63, has never received an interview for a Major League managerial position, but of course, he would like to do it if a team was interested.
