Cincinnati Reds-Cleveland Indians series opener in weather delay Monday

For the fifth time in eight days, the Cincinnati Reds won't have a game start on time because of a weather delay.

The Reds announced a delay before their series opener against Cleveland at 6:13 p.m. Monday because there was impending inclement weather in the forecast. The grounds crew began unrolling the tarp at Great American Ball Park at 6:37 p.m, three minutes before the originally scheduled first pitch.

The Reds had two games postponed because of rain: Thursday vs. Chicago Cubs and Saturday at Detroit. They played a doubleheader against the Tigers on Sunday, the first doubleheader with seven-inning games in Major League Baseball history.
