Cincinnati Reds catcher Curt Casali is making progress from the right knee injury that put him on10-day the injured list.
"I can run, throw, hit – everything really except that deep squat," he said. "It's improved each time I've done it."
Casali went on the IL July 28. At the time, it was thought he'd miss three weeks. Casali has no definitive return date in mind.
"It's wait and see," he said. "I think I'm close to returning, but I wouldn't want to put a date on it."
Casali's return is not as pressing now that Tucker Barnhart and Kyle Farmer are healthy.
