As the July 31st trade deadline approaches, are the Cincinnati Reds (42-48) going to be buyers or sellers? In an interview last week with C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic, president of baseball operations Dick Williams insinuated the Reds would be looking to upgrade the major league roster for a run at the National League Central title.
While the idea of the Reds being buyers at the deadline is exciting to hear, the next 16 games will undoubtedly determine if those plans come to fruition. All but 3 of those contests are against their fellow NL Central rivals.
