Cincinnati Reds add lefty Cody Reed to the bullpen before playing the Los Angeles Dodgers

Before Friday’s series opener against the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Reds announced they were calling up left-handed reliever Cody Reed and optioning infielder Josh VanMeter to Triple-A Louisville.

The Reds will carry nine relievers and three bench players during Friday’s game. Reed will be the fourth lefty reliever in the bullpen, joining Amir Garrett, Wandy Peralta and Zach Duke.
