Chris Welsh's reaction to Indians' Trevor Bauer heaving ball over wall: 'That guy cares'

Cleveland Indians pitcher Trevor Bauer apologized for heaving a ball over the center-field wall as manager Terry Francona came to take him out of a game. Francona didn't appear to like Bauer's outburst.

FOX Sports Ohio analyst Chris Welsh explained via Twitter afterward that he thought the move exemplified Bauer's competitive spirit.

And Welsh doubled down on the tweet during Monday night's broadcast of the Cincinnati Reds' win against the Pittsburgh Pirates after he and play-by-play broadcaster Jim Day also discussed how Bauer's heave was reminiscent of former Reds pitcher Rob Dibble throwing the ball into the center-field stands after closing a game in 1991:
