"I texted [Wojciechowski] the other day when he got called up, 'Hey man, congrats. I saw you're back in the show.' A week later, I'm here with him," said Buchanan, who was in the Astros organization from 2010-15. "It's pretty crazy how it all works. Feldman, I played with him a bit too."
Now Buchanan and Wojciechowski are the top contenders, along with Robert Stephenson, to get a spot start in the next series at Toronto. The Reds need a starter to fill injured lefty Amir Garrett's spot on either Monday or Tuesday, which is still to be determined by manager Bryan Price.
