ATLANTA – Left-hander Brandon Finnegan is going to the bullpen.
Finnegan, 25, will pitch out of the bullpen for Triple-A Louisville beginning immediately. He has struggled as a starter since getting sent to Louisville on May 8. He was 2-6 with a 7.24 ERA in eight starts for the Bats.
“This is no punishment, whatsoever,” Reds president of baseball operations Dick Williams said. “We’re just not seeing the performance that we’ve seen before. At the end of ’16, he was an effective starting pitcher. Then because of the time off for injury or whatever, he just hasn’t gotten back there.
