SURPRISE, Ariz. – Playing against many of his former teammates Friday, Billy Hamilton couldn’t stop smiling throughout the afternoon.
When players were stretching before the game, Hamilton hugged Jesse Winker, Scott Schebler, Eugenio Suárez and Phillip Ervin in center field and chatted with them for several minutes. He nearly robbed José Peraza of a home run in the top of the first inning, then laughed with Peraza when he arrived at second base in the bottom half of the inning.
