Bauer’s great start blown by the Reds bullpen in a loss to Detroit

A third straight day of dominant starting pitching turned into a second straight day of the Cincinnati Reds bullpen and offense not getting the job done against the worst team in baseball during the 2019 season. Trevor Bauer struck out 13 batters and allowed just one run in 6.1 innings in his first start of the year. The offense never really got going, and Michael Lorenzen coughed up his second go-ahead 2-run homer in as many days as the Tigers beat the Reds to take the series.
