In my search to find a branch of baseball or a sport, any sport, including potentially betta fish battles, which had escaped 2020 unsuckified, I found myself at the website of my old friends the Colorado Springs Rocky Mountain Vibes and their most charming mascot, Toasty the Marshmallow.
The Vibes had not survived the 2019-2020 Order 66-type contraction of minor league teams, but fear not, they were rescued by the Pioneer League to toast another day. They even added a kid’s club, the Mini Mallows, a sort of thing which seemed worth having children over, and I began considering if these were in fact my people.
