Bailey snaps into form in win over Rockies

DENVER – If the last three years of watching Homer Bailey have taught Cincinnati Reds manager Bryan Price anything, it’s not to get ahead of himself. Returns to health have been quickly followed by more injuries. Strong, finally-he’s-back starts have been followed by clunkers.

“As soon as you think the something is going the right way, it stops,” Price said. “Or you think it’s going the wrong way, and it ends. You never want to say anything that we’re going to regret.”

But after watching Bailey toss six one-run innings in an 8-1 win over the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday, Price couldn’t help but look at the future through rose-tinted lenses.
