After Michael Lorenzen hit his first home run of the season Wednesday, manager David Bell visited Lorenzen at his locker and delivered news that Lorenzen has waited to hear for his entire career:

Lorenzen was starting in center field for Thursday’s series finale against the Philadelphia Phillies. It was his first career start in the outfield.

“It was fun telling him,” Bell said.
