Left-hander Amir Garrett will return to the Reds’ rotation on Thursday, starting the series finale against the Cubs.
Garrett was sent to Triple-A on May 7, the day after he beat the Giants. The Reds said they wanted to limit the innings he’d pitch this year. He made one start at Triple-A, striking out all six batters he faced in two innings of work.
Right-hander Lisalverto Bonilla is scheduled to start Friday’s series opener against the Rockies at Great American Ball Park and Tim Adleman is expected to start Saturday.
Adleman left Sunday’s game in San Francisco after one inning with a stiff neck.
