DENVER – A few minutes before a group sang the national anthem Saturday, the Cincinnati Reds learned their game against the Colorado Rockies would be delayed because of lightning near Coors Field.
About 30 minutes after the delay was announced, the Coors Field grounds crew placed a tarp over the infield in preparation for a thunderstorm that contained hail.
